After just two years in the business, Susan was named a Corcoran Vice President and was just named Senior Vice President this year as well as being awarded Chelsea/Flatiron salesperson of the year. That says a lot about one woman's marketing smarts, high energy and business savvy.
Susan's success in real estate is the natural culmination of her previous business endeavors. In the early 90's when environmental concerns were taking hold, she opened a green business in upstate New York where she developed and sold all natural and re-cycled products for the home and garden. "It was very exciting to work with artists and suppliers to find and create products that not only added beauty to one's personal environment but were also globally responsible."
While her passion helped to launch an on-going Earth Day celebration in Kingston, NY and a devoted customer base, Susan returned to Manhattan to pursue other interests. While working as Director of Direct Marketing for American Baby magazine she embarked upon a two year course in Feng Shui and the knowledge reignited her interest in the home. "That's what really interested me in real estate. I knew that I could help people navigate through the changes in their lives, where it impacted those most, in their homes."
And now it's come full circle. Last summer Susan became the first and only certified Eco-broker in New York. The class prepared her to define, locate and mitigate environmental hazards in the home as well as providing knowledge of ways to build and develop sustainable living spaces. As part of her community service, Susan serves on the Board of Directors of London Terrace Towers. She's working towards greening the building through energy conservation and the use of healthier products in common areas. It's a marriage of profit and purpose.
